Peru. Land of the Incas. While in Cuzco we had plenty of opportunity to see several of the old Inca ruins. Most of the ruins are located right by different cities in the Sacred Valley. The first ones we saw were in Tipón. These were the cheapest ruins to see, maybe because Abuelo talked them down for us.
A common theme of all the ruins are that they seem to all be places of agriculture and/or serve as resorts. They couldn't all be resorts. Some of these places had to be the homesteads of the Incas too right? Either way all the ruins come complete with running water.
The area has a lot of open space, but it is hard to believe that lots of folks could have lived here in an actual city like situation. There are still a few house structures in the back.
We climbed up behind the main ruins to find some ruins that are being studied, looked at, moved, or something. All the rocks are numbered and recorded I think. Either way here is the view from up top.
These were pretty cool ruins. Not too much. If you had limited time in Peru I would not rank these ones too high, but still neat to see. And now finally what you have been waiting for; gratuitous shots of me.
