Has your franchise become a mess? Are continuity problems more abundant than thrilling moments? Maybe you're just in a rut and don't have any clue what to do? Time travel might be just the ticket for you! Yes, time travel stories are just the thing when you want to appear creative when in fact you are just lazy and too scared to admit the mistakes you have made and hit reset to start over. Time travel can solve everything! All it costs you is potentially negating all the other stories you have told, but if you'd done a good job with those we wouldn't be here contemplating jumping into the time travel portal would we? In the end the X-Men were desperately in need of some sort of shot in the arm and time travel worked out well enough for them. It helped correct some previous missteps and even managed to inject some much needed lightheartedness into an overly serious franchise. Unfortunately even time travel couldn't correct the fact that (mostly) attractive people with uniquely awesome and infinitely useful powers would not be feared, hated, and hunted like the X-Men still are...even with the benefit of time travel. That seems to be one of the glaring problem the X-Men just can't shake.
